Sognefjord

I came to Norway to see the 'Mother of all fjords*and was not disappointed..outstanding scenery!!

Undredal

100 people...300 goats..enlarge and look for the farm on top of the mountain.

FLAM

Löcated in the centre of the pic.... a bit to the left..what a spot!Tiny-tranquil and the beginning of my 5 hr. boat tour down the Sognefjord.

Bergen..second largest city in Norway.Located on the west coast.

No,your eyes are not deciving you. This is my fave building block..lack of space inside led to this design. All furniture etc. must be brought up from the outside..so building is designed so that nothing will rub on the building while being hoisted.

Google this fancy,blue'pin-cushion'

This is special..5 in a row.

You won't find any 3 car garages here..but every home has a bike-boat and possibly a vehicle.

On the canal.

This is the back..out front is the car and street.

This is a city designed for bikes.Note the 'bike-kade' in behind!

Guess where I'm at now...???

This is what welcomes you and the ferry to France... hmmmm, England or France...where's my swim-trunks.

These 'White Cliffs of Dover' will be the last image you'll see from the ferry as you leave 'jolly' old England for France. They're made of chalk..difficult to write with I bet.

This gothic-looking thing,found in Edinburgh,is a monument to a famous Scot,Sir Walter Scott...google the dude.

Piccadeley Circus was teeming with people, esp. students backpacking their way around Europe.

London Bridge has the 'Belfast' guarding it...not really the warship Belfast has been retired, like me ,and is now a museum.

Britain Calling

This rear wheel from your bike is called "The Eye" in London..I don't know why...32 capsules..25 people per..at 15euros each..you do the math... London was 'scarey' busy!

Leaving Ireland

Well I'm off to London in 2 hrs.I'm at the airport and cannot post pics so....Ireland and it's differences from Canada..other than the 'big' diff...driving on the opp. side of the road---in the south all signs are in 2 languages,Irish and---toilet handles are on the r. side or push button top--yield signs say'Give Way'---there is an amber light before the red---hedges between houses, not fences---stone fences and hedges separate fields---tyre instead of tire---that's all I can recall for now.
When I arrive in London..it's off to buy a Euro-rail pass, spend a couple of days in London, and then travel by train to Scotland..Norway-Finland..and work my way down to Greece, where I hope to be on a beach when Aug.31 arrives...the first day that staff and students will be back at it... .

blu skies from rainy Ireland.

The Cliffs of Moher..Ireland.Note how tiny the 12 meter high lookout tower is on top of the cliff.

Giants Causeway...Ireland..formed from volcanic eruptions.

I kissed the Blarney Stone...yuck !

L'Arc de Triomphe...Napoleon..50 meters high...built for the ''glory of the French army''...completed in 1836.
The Eiffel Tower..built for the 1889 World's Fair in Paris. At that time it was the tallest structure in the world.

No, Ryan and Michelle I haven't fogotten my password..and Rhys,Taten is right...relax.

You think I'm old...Europe is old-old-and a lot older than me..everything is old here,no wonder I'm feeling so good!

After 2 days in Dublin-3 in Paris-5 in the Brittany region in western France and 2 in the Channel Islands,I'm back in Ireland-rented a car and am touring the lovely island.Driving here has been a challenge..driving a 5 speed,on the 'opposite' side of the road is weird....the gas, brake and clutch pedals are the same as in Canada and the 5 speed is also the same, altho' shifting with the L. hand is different.

So far only 1 curb has jumped out at me and the left side of the car is constantly being washed by the branches, leaves and bushes along the very narrow roads-how narrow..the width of your double car driveway..no kidding-there is barely enough room for 2 small cars, but when you're on one of their busy 'cow paths' and meet a tour bus or transport trucks...yikes..the first couple of days I was 'white-knucklin-er'..but now I'm Mario Andretti-lol... .Paris is 'all that'-wonderful..did all the big ticket items.Brittany,France, where my Dad's side of the family hails from, felt really good..took in all the local culture.I found a town called Dreux(Drew),not far from Paris and I'm going back there to spend a day or 2 there when I'm on my way to Greece. From Brittany..on to the Channel Islands,Jersey and Guernsey(mooo)..my family didn't stay there long enough to leave a footprint... .Ireland..the Irish have a great sense of humour...they have sunroofs in their cars...the Island is very much like Nova Scotia..rockier,more rain, but lush and beautiful.Having been in contact with several locals I've come to realize that I'm more Irish than French...''wee girl from the North thar...''
I've just come from the Cliffs of Moher..awesome..and it's raining so I've decided to take a break from the 'rainy road' and attempt to make a post from an internet cafe in Galway Bay... . then it's off to Donegal tomorrow.
I have so many pics..which to choose..Mac and Ryan K. picked 2 dandy spots...I hope this works... Jordan, where are you when I need you??
First 2 pics Barleycove Beach and Bantry Bay
3rd. Bo and the Tower
last... check out the 'do-dads' on this unit in Jersey.
